At just 17, Arjun Vinayaka Doss is not only excelling academically as a Grade 12 ISC student at the National Academy for Learning in Basaveshwarnagar, Bengaluru—but also leading a powerful social movement that blends martial arts, education, and technology.
A 3rd-degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and a certified Level 3 Coach, Arjun has dedicated over 12 years to mastering the discipline. Today, he stands among the youngest individuals to achieve this level of expertise. However, his journey goes far beyond personal achievement—it is rooted in a mission to empower others.
In 2022, Arjun began volunteering at a local government school, where he taught origami, mathematics, and reading skills. It was during this time that he noticed a deeper issue—many students lacked confidence, discipline, and a sense of personal safety. This realization became a turning point in his life.

Determined to make a difference, Arjun introduced Taekwondo training to these students. What started as a small initiative soon evolved into a structured platform—SHEild Taekwondo.
SHEild is more than just a martial arts program; it is a movement aimed at empowering teenagers with self-defense skills, mental strength, and confidence. Through free workshops, Arjun has already trained over 100 students, breaking financial and accessibility barriers that often prevent young individuals from learning martial arts.
Recognizing the limitations of traditional teaching methods, Arjun took a step further by integrating technology into his initiative. This led to the creation of TaekAI, an AI-powered web application that offers structured learning and personalized feedback for Taekwondo practitioners.
TaekAI aims to revolutionize how martial arts are taught by making high-quality training accessible to students regardless of their location or financial background.
To sustain and expand his initiative, Arjun has raised ₹40,000, which he is using to support students with belt examination fees and essential gear. This ensures that financial constraints do not hinder their progress or safety.
Beyond physical training, Arjun has also focused on building a supportive community. He has authored a Taekwondo handbook, established a peer mentor network, and co-created comic stories with students based on real-life experiences. These stories promote resilience, perseverance, and self-belief. By combining discipline, innovation, and compassion, Arjun Doss is redefining youth empowerment in India. His work through SHEild is not just shaping skilled martial artists—it is nurturing confident and resilient individuals ready to face life’s challenges.
